Experience the real Portugal! The villa is around one hundred years old, and is situated in a semi-rural suburb of Tondela town, shown by the red star on the map.
The house is in a peaceful location, and a quiet neighbourhood. It has mountain views. The villa is fairly cool inside in summer, and has wooden shutters on all the windows. It is made almost entirely of granite, as you can see from the back steps:
The accommodation downstairs comprises of a games room, in what was once a cellar, the room is complete with table football; kiddies-size snooker table and outside is a dart board. The kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences. Downstairs in the dining area is a large sofabed. It is a 10 minute drive to the shops in Tondela where there is a serviced laundrette, numerous restaurants, and an Internet cafe amongst other small specialist shops. Upstairs you will find the hallway:
which has four bedrooms opening off it There are two large double rooms each with a double bed: and two smaller rooms
one with a bunk bed suitable for 2/3 children (with an extra bed).
The bathroom is clad in marble and has a power shower with massage jets in addition to the bath.
There are various bicycles for hire. The rural route along the lanes into town has some exhilarating downhills past vineyards and small farms. On the way back it is uphill most of the way, but there are several cafes at which to stop for an ice cream or drink.
Five minutes walk away is a very nice restaurant called 'The Three Pipes', Os três Pipos.
the walled garden is a safe place to relax, or watch your kids ride round! The inside of the house has been completely restored with new fittings and furniture. As the garden landscaping is not yet complete, the villa is available for rent in 2008 at surprisingly reasonable rates. Contact gustine.roy@googlemail.com for more information. |
